Summer Camp Project

The project was launched in 2012 and aimed to be expanded to wider sectors as well as Istanbul and its surroundings. Between 2012 and 2018, 86 students participated. The project is carried out with the cooperation of the relevant Governor's Office or the National Education Directorate. To date, students from Batman, Kahramanmaraş, Hakkâri, Kars, Eskişehir, Şırnak and Iğdır and their companion teachers have been accommodated.

Learning Outcomes: Understands the importance of botany science and plant collections. Recognize the world of plants and understand its importance in the natural cycle. Recognize the concepts of biological diversity and ecosystem. Question the importance of biodiversity for natural life. Discuss the factors that threaten biodiversity and produce ideas for its solution. Understands the importance of mutual interaction between human and environment. Establishes environmental awareness and environmentally sensitive behaviors.

Who can apply for the project?
With the cooperation of the Governorship or the National Education Directorates, a group of 12 students aged 12-14 with teachers, and non-governmental organizations can apply. There should be students with inadequate financial situation, a good education in rural areas, who have a chance to see Istanbul and have the opportunity to study in such an area. You can apply for this 10-day project in August in June.
